IHM has provided a new antenna site in the outskirts of the village Tasiilaq on the East coast of Greenland, replacing the existing end-of-life antenna. The new Rohde & Schwarz HF antenna was connected to the IHM ground-to-air communication solution, and was replaced while the system was in operation.
The antenna site of Tasiilaq is part of the Greenlandic radio communication system handling communication to airplanes. The solution consists of a new antenna site with extended coverage, which is conneced to the main control room in the capital of Greenlad, Nuuk, and the town Kangerlussuaq on the West coast. From the main control room, the 5 operators remote control the communication from the HF antennas.
With the IHM solution, a reliable and secure connection is established between Nuuk and Tasiilaq ensuring
- Efficient and seamless communication
- A system with the highest reliability
- the highest operational availability
The IHM solution consists of
- ED137B-connection on Main and Standby communication rack in Nuuk
- IP/ I/O interface for remote control of e.g antenna shift of the new HF site in Tasiilaq
- Integration of Rohde & Schwarz HF sender/receiver on Main and Standby in Tasiilaq
The technical solution fulfills the requiremtns of Safety Objective and Requirements for Airports.
